Bringing people together through song and music

11.png

I believe music has the power to create connection—within ourselves, between each other, and in the communities and settings where we live and work. Over the past decade, I’ve led music-making sessions and singing circles in a wide variety of spaces, always with the same intention: to make music feel accessible, joyful, and meaningful. Below you’ll find the three main strands of my work:

Community Singing

I lead singing circles and community choirs where all voices are welcome—no experience needed. My Shoreham Women’s Singing Circle meets weekly to sing short, uplifting songs taught by ear. These “medicine songs” soothe, empower, and celebrate the joy of singing together.

I also run festival singing circles, preschool sessions, and one-off community workshops, always creating a relaxed, welcoming space where people can connect through song.

“Amy creates such a warm and welcoming space—after just one session, I felt more connected and uplifted than I had in weeks.”

Music in Healthcare and Care Settings

For over a decade, I’ve brought live, interactive music to care homes, day centres, and hospital wards. These sessions may include gentle warm-ups, familiar songs, percussion, and improvised music. Participation is always flexible—listening, singing, tapping along, or simply soaking up the atmosphere.

Music can spark memory, reduce anxiety, and create moments of shared joy, especially for people living with dementia or children in hospital.

“We’ve seen residents with advanced dementia light up and sing along, moments of pure connection.”

Workshops, Events and Performances

I lead one-off workshops and singing sessions for festivals, conferences, outdoor community and workplace wellbeing events. I also perform as a singer-songwriter, creating experiences that bring people together through music in joyful and meaningful ways.

Recent events include corporate team-building singing, festival singing circles, and a psychotherapy conference where I demonstrated how singing can nurture a sense of belonging.

“I never thought I could write and sing a song, but Amy made it easy and fun. I left feeling exhilarated!”
