✨ That’s a wrap on our summer singing sessions! ✨

What an incredible year it’s been – together we’ve learned and sung more than 25 songs, shared laughter (and a few tears), and built a circle of connection, support and joy. I’m so grateful to all the amazing women who’ve shared their voices with us – thank you for making this group such a special community 💛

We’ll be back at The Shoreham Centre on Monday 8th September for our autumn sessions 🍂.

If you’d like to join us, you’re warmly invited to a free taster session. We always love welcoming new voices – no auditions, no solos, no pressure. Just the joy of singing together. 🎶

All songs are taught by ear, and we sing in unison, rounds, and beautiful harmonies in 2, 3 and 4 parts. A peaceful, uplifting way to start the week.

I’ve always loved singing this one — the melody just feels so good to wrap your voice around.

Here’s a little snippet from my kitchen table today, playing around with an arrangement.

Sometimes the only way I know how to respond to the horrors and injustice in the world is to sing.

This song — Roses and Bread — is a short, powerful version of the 1911 poem Bread and Roses, beautifully arranged by Penny Stone @singlouderthantheguns

It reminds me that we all deserve the basics to survive — bread — but also the beauty, dignity, and joy that make life worth living — roses.

In these times, when so many are facing loss, violence, and displacement — in Gaza, in Ukraine, and beyond — I sing this song as a small act of love and solidarity.

I had suuuuch a great time at @goodvibrationssociety this weekend leading a community singing circle in The Nest 🙌
Thank you to the awesome women who came and shared their voices and positive energy 💥

The whole festival really is a good vibe- so many talks, wellness workshops, delicious food, incredible live music, the ‘stop & flop’ hammock area was a hit with my fam ✌️ thanks for having me - we will be back!

✨ Singing Sauna ✨

⏰ 6.30–7.30pm
💫 £20

A gentle invitation to slow down, warm up, breathe deep, and sing together. Join me for an evening of warmth, connection, and joyful sound 🫶

We’ll ease into the sauna (set at a singer-friendly 50–60°C), sing 3–4 simple, beautiful songs together (no experience needed!), and intersperse the session with refreshing sea dips or a plunge in the cold tub.

🎶 No pressure to perform – sing as much or as little as you like. Just come as you are, and let the sauna, the sea, and the shared music work their magic!

I’m obsessed with these gorgeous pics taken by @old.fort.photography during our beach sing this week!

They really capture the spirit of our Women’s Singing Circle- warmth, support, fun, real, open, nurturing, a good giggle, peaceful.

Here we are singing ‘Kokoleoko’ a traditional folk song from Liberia which translates to ‘cock-a-doodle-doo mama!’ Aka WAKE UP MUM 😝

We sing together on Monday evenings, usually at the @shorehamcentre or when the weather lets us, the beach 🌊

I first heard of this song and learned this part of it on my @singing_mamas_org leader training back in 2021 and it has been a staple in pretty much all of my singing sessions since then!

‘Kothbiro’ written by Ayub Ogada who is a Kenyan musician and singer. He wrote this song in 1993. I’m singing a tiny part here of the whole song which he sings in Dholuo - the language of the Lou people of Western Kenya. Go check out the full track, it’s beautiful.

We sang this in my Women’s Singing Circle on Monday evening and it gave many people chills (the good kind!).

Very soothing, grounding and allows you to drop into singing so easily.
