What is the role of the Community Musician?

A community musician’s role is to facilitate group music making. These music sessions can take place

with many different groups of people, and should be conducted in an engaging, inspiring and enthusiastic way.

They must understand that everyone learns in different ways and be adaptable and flexible

in accommodating and embracing each participant’s learning style.

A primary focus of the community musician is to encourage participation and

interaction between themselves and those in the group in a safe, welcoming and inclusive

environment and style.
